Post process

MJF 3D Printing Post-Processing

Powder removal

  • This is an essential initial step to extract parts from the ‘powder cake’ right after printing and remove the surrounding unsintered powder.
  • This process includes using a vacuum or brushes to shake off large lumps and recovering reusable powder.

Bead Blasting

  • This process sprays beads using high-pressure air to completely remove residual fine powder adhered to the surface. Mixing materials like graphite powder with the beads enables color expression.

  • This step smooths out the characteristically rough texture of MJF parts and ensures a uniform surface roughness, preparing them optimally for subsequent dyeing or painting.

Coloring & Finishing

  • Depending on requirements, additional painting for a sleek appearance or coating to increase surface hardness can be applied to achieve end-use product quality.
