Q. Please introduce yourself and Jeonbuk Technopark.

Hello. I am Han-jin Jeong , a Senior Researcher in the Smart Convergence Business Team of the Smart Manufacturing Innovation Bureau at Jeonbuk Technopark. As you know, Technoparks are established in major local governments across the country. In particular, Jeonbuk Technopark serves as a network hub for industry, academia, research, and government in the Jeonbuk region, and acts as a CTO organization that discovers and nurtures companies.

“CTO (Chief Technical Officer) organization” is a keyword we are pushing a bit (laughs). Rather than just providing corporate support without technical knowledge, Jeonbuk Technopark conducts research on technology and studies how to apply it to specific companies while providing support. Specifically, our center operates research and corporate support equipment, helping companies solve actual difficulties encountered at their sites using our equipment. Currently, our team operates a support project with a construction and agricultural machinery concept, providing engineering technology and reverse engineering support to companies through resin3Dprinters and 3D scanners.

✅ What is Technopark?
It is a hub institution for regional industry promotion that builds an organic cooperative network among regional industry, academia, research, and government. It establishes industrial development strategies and policies suited to local conditions and discovers and nurtures knowledge-based small giant technology companies.

Q. How do local companies get to know Jeonbuk Technopark and contact you?

Just as people buying electric cars naturally know about EV subsidies, I think most people in companies know about Technopark. Of course, we actively promote specific support details. We hold briefing sessions whenever there are corporate support projects. We also promote through various channels such as TV, radio, buses, billboards, and banners.

Support announcements can be checked on our homepage or the Technopark corporate support system. After checking the announcement and submitting an application to the person in charge, it undergoes a review by a committee composed of external experts. For example, since our center specializes in construction/agricultural machinery and special-purpose vehicles, we appoint experts from academia and research institutes in those fields as evaluators to review business plans.

Q. What was the reason for adopting Lincsolution’s SLA 3D printer, the LINK SL-1500?

As mentioned earlier, we wrote a business plan with the concept of electrified construction and agricultural machinery. Since most of these machines are large-scale, we were looking for a relevant 3D printer. Most large-scale 3D printing methods result in rough surfaces, so we needed a large-scale printer that also offered good surface roughness. That is why we looked for the SLA (Stereolithography) method.

Considering the budget and required performance of Jeonbuk regional companies, the Lincsolution equipment was judged to be the most reasonable alternative. Existing foreign equipment had high material and operating costs, creating an entry barrier that made companies hesitate even if they had the demand. On the other hand, Lincsolution received high marks for being practical to operate at a reasonable cost.

Recently, believing that domestic technologies have improved significantly, we wrote the business plan to build the equipment without distinguishing between domestic and foreign brands.

Q. Is Jeonbuk Technopark actively promoting large-scale 3D printing support to companies?

Without promotion, it is difficult for companies to be aware of specific equipment. Even years after installation, many people still ask, “Did you have such equipment?” Therefore, we have been promoting online and offline even before the equipment was installed. We also visit sites and provide technical guidance to SMEs in Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province that possess R&D capabilities and are interested in 3D technology.

Q. Which companies are using Jeonbuk Technopark’s 3D printers?

Users include special-purpose equipment companies and tier-1 suppliers for tractor manufacturers. Company D, a special-purpose equipment company, manufactures various products such as automatic car washes, pump cars, and electric golf carts. Recently, with Jeonbuk focusing on defense and bio-industries, many companies are deliberating on defense, robotics, AI, and smart farms. As challenges based on various items increase, demand for working mockups or prototypes for research and development purposes is rising. Hearing the opinions of those in the agricultural machinery industry recently, while domestic demand is important, they are looking for ways to export. They seem to be taking on more diverse challenges because they consider overseas markets from the development stage.

Q. Have there been opinions from companies wanting to purchase and operate 3D printers themselves?

Some people do ask about the price. Since we are an institution, we must attach equipment registration tags and display the acquisition price. They are surprised when they hear the price. In fact, companies could probably buy equipment costing tens of millions to 100 million KRW if they set their minds to it. However, it is not easy for SMEs to invest larger amounts. Therefore, Jeonbuk Technopark judged that high-priced industrial equipment, which is difficult for SMEs to purchase directly, would be helpful to companies.

Q. Please introduce the parts produced using the LINK SL-1500.

⛳ Golf Cart Roof (Ceiling)
Specialty equipment manufacturer Company DY INNOVATE produced a golf cart roof using the SL-1500. Since it exceeded the 1.5m range, it was produced in four parts. The company used it as a design mockup. Electric golf carts are often custom-made to customer specifications. Although they have become quite popularized recently, perhaps because golf users are relatively affluent, they seem to want to enjoy golf carts more comfortably and strictly. The needs for custom roofs for golf carts that can expand functional and aesthetic elements, such as fans or lighting beyond simple structures, are increasing. As internal components become more diverse, they are performing mounting tests for fans or lights by producing custom roofs from the prototype development stage.

In addition to this, we have produced agricultural machinery buttons, entire dashboard parts for hydrogen tractors, and display housings.

🐄 Automatic Feeding System
There is an automatic feeding system developed by Newtech Co. that automatically opens and closes to feed livestock in smart barns. They mentioned that the cost of research and development was too high with existing methods. However, they said our 3D printer was very helpful, and in 2025, related content was reported in the news.

Q. What are the benefits since introducing Lincsolution’s SL-1500?

In fact, the equipment we previously had was either too expensive for companies to use or difficult to utilize because the production size did not fit. To match the costs desired by companies, we had to print using small FDM printers which have inferior surface finishes compared to the photocuring method (SLA), so we couldn’t confidently say, “It is possible.”

However, now, especially with the SL-1500, the material price is very cheap and the surface comes out clean, while covering large areas. So instead of saying “It’s not possible,” we can now suggest, “Let’s try printing it.”

Benefits are arising as companies try making things. Actually, almost no companies come with designs optimized for 3D printing (DfAM). They just bring designs worked on like existing root industry mold designs, but through exchanging feedback with us regarding issues, they modify and resend them. In this process, companies also get a sense of additive manufacturing design optimization (DfAM). I think there is significance in just trying it out once.

Q. What are you most satisfied with while using the SL-1500?

First of all, since the materials are cheap, many companies return. There is no other equipment that offers such quality surface finish for the price. Among the equipment types we possess, the SL-1500 is the only one where post-processing only requires support removal without needing surface finishing.

Q. Support companies may read this article. Please introduce what other equipment you have besides Lincsolution’s.

We have MJF (Powder method), DED (Welding method), Large FDM (Material Extrusion method), and Sand Printers. All have been established to produce large parts. If surface finish or size is important, the SL-1500 is used; if strength is significant even if surface expression is slightly lower, FDM or MJF are also used often. In the case of DED equipment, since it is integrated into a robot, the way of handling it differs from existing 3D printers. DED is used to produce large metal parts.

Q. Can you rate your satisfaction with the LINK SL-1500?

Currently, we are using it very satisfactorily. This includes the service aspect, and they proactively handle after-sales management. As a side note, the last time we checked utilization rates, the SL-1500 was the second most used machine. I think the technological capabilities of Korean 3D printer companies, including Lincsolution, have improved greatly. However, since China is developing enough to lead the global 3D printer market, Korean companies seem to need to strive even harder.

Q. Are there any regrets or areas for improvement while using the LINK SL-1500?

This is not a regret specific to the SL-1500 but a drawback of the SLA 3D printing method in general; it would be good if support removal during post-processing could be made a little easier. It would also be helpful to have a feature that predicts build failures and provides guidance during pre-processing. I know Lincsolution is currently thinking and planning a lot about AI and automation, and I believe that is the direction we ultimately need to go.

Q. How far has the automation and development of agricultural machinery progressed?

As you know, realistically, the number of people working in rural areas is decreasing. Therefore, automation and electrification are becoming even more important. There are autonomous tractors that map and navigate fields, drones that spray pesticides, and machines that pick only red, ripe tomatoes using vision cameras. Also, just as eco-friendly cars are becoming widespread, such attempts are being made in agricultural machinery. Electric batteries and hydrogen fuel are representative examples. Since there are limits to handling the momentary high loads generated during excavation work with electric batteries alone, hydrogen fuel systems capable of high-output response are also being used. Many students from prestigious universities are recently starting startups related to agricultural machinery businesses. Although the rural workforce is shrinking, it is fortunate that young people are taking on the challenge.

Q. What are Jeonbuk Technopark’s future plans?

I heard that Lincsolution is also considering post-processing automation, such as a robot automatically removing the build platform from the SLA 3D printer and placing it into post-processing equipment (resin washer and curing machine). Since AI and automation are emphasized in manufacturing these days, I think we could conduct meaningful projects together with related industry, academia, and research partners.

Q. Do you have any advice or recommendations for companies or research institutes planning to introduce the LINK SL-1500 for the first time?

First, if you plan to install it, you will need at least two operators. It is not equipment that can be handled alone, and it would be best to have personnel dedicated to the LINK SL-1500 so they can become experts. Also, I recommend the SL-1500 to companies that have a demand for large areas and need to frequently view design mockups during research and development.

Q. Is there anything you would like to say in conclusion? It doesn’t necessarily have to be about Lincsolution products.

I wish companies developing 3D printers would conduct more research on materials. After making a product, it cannot be thrown away as general trash but must be disposed of as waste, so I hope for the use of eco-friendly materials and consideration for the safety of operators.
